  1. My prayers are with the Patterson Family and the COGIC Family during your time of bereavement. I know how it feels to lose a Pastor/Father in Ministry. Exactly 4 years ago, I had to deal with the death of my pastor. It was a trying time. Knowing the Word of God and holding fast to his teachings, helped me to deal with his passing. There were times when I cried and grieved, but other times I rejoiced because I knew pastor went home to be with the Lord. Yes, there will be times you will cry & mourn; but other times you will praise, shout, dance, etc. because the victory has been won. Bishop Patterson is not in pain any longer; he is with the Lord. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Go Forth and carry out his legacy.
    Prayerfully & Sincerely,
    Minister Russell Witcher

Lovingly and sadly we must say good-bye to one of God most humble and loyal servant. A man who knew no boundary when it came to the word of God and the people of God. Presiding Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson ministry reached beyond every denomination and enter into the hearts of the people. He was not just a Bishop or Preacher to the COGIC, but he was God’s servant and man of the hour to the world. I know that our Heavenly Father called him home for a reason, and I am equally sure when He made the call, he said Gilbert come on home, job well done. My Mother went home in 2004 with love for Bishop Patterson in her heart. In her own words “that is truly a man of God.” To the family, thank you so much for sharing Bishop with us. We will continue to hold you dearly in our heart in prayer and in love; we could not love and appreciate Bishop without loving you.

    My Sincere Condolence,

  4. During this season I mourn, yet I rejoice, knowing that Bishop Patterson is now in the place where he has preached about for so many years and where he has told us heaven is the place to be. I rejoice in knowing that Bishop Patterson made a mark on people lives that can never be erased. He spoke life to people all around the world. Sister Patterson, a light that will never be put out. Her kindness and her genuine love for God’s people will forever be felt. I speak words of encouragement to you Sister Patterson. God still has work for you to do. You are needed in the body of Christ. There are young women that need you guidance and counsel. You are beautiful and your spirit is so sweet. I appreciate you and I bid you peace in every area of your life. I love you and thank you for sharing your man with the whole world.

The news of Bishop Patterson was truly shocking, and devastating but we know that God is telling him job well done. He was definately by far one of the greatest preachers of the word that I ever had the privelage of listening to. What a blessing to have had him here! God bless his family, and congregation.
